Smiles Fade Into Tears

The days move more slowly, drag on and on

I go through the motions, live life, but when the day is done…

The light fades, my smiles turn into tears

Alone in the dark again, I am surrounded by fears

Afraid to sleep, meet you again inside my dreams

Then waking up without you, filled with silent screams

It’s harder everyday, to push forward, forget about my pain

The sun shines upon my face, yet I’m surrounded by rain

"He’s a strong one, he’ll be fine," everyone pretends

Strong I’m not, not even close, they’ll never comprehend

Never comprehend what a day is like through my wounded eyes

Trapped in a nightmare, fighting every moment, in this world of lies

A nightmare run by a broken heart beating despair no one hears

With empty laughs, broken promises, and smiles fading into tears
